Starr Hudson

Starr HudsonStarr has been a hairstylist for 44 years, 38 of which have been in Windsor. This gives her a special interest in serving the community where she raised her two daughters. Starr purchased and refurbished the property at 521 Main St. establishing Hudson’s Bay Salon Inc. in 1989, making it the oldest and most long standing salon in Windsor. Because this building had been sorely neglected, there were many long hours of arduous work to make it what it is today. Ongoing maintenance of an old historic building is very challenging, but the property now truly reflects who Starr is. Consequently she has an extreme devoted attachment to her creation. Starr loves to be outdoors or in the water. In her spare time she loves teaching scuba diving. When she’s not teaching she’s very active in equine sports, nurturing her landscaping, hanging out with her grand children who are growing up too fast, or enjoying her many critters that she loves.

Dana Pitner

Dana PitnerDana has been with Hudson’s Bay for 21 years and has been in the beauty business for 34 years. She has spent more then half her beauty career working at Hudson’s Bay showing her commitment to the salon and her clients.   Dana is married and  the proud mommy of 2 grown children, dogs, goats, chickens, and Sassy, a gorgeous Paint horse. When she’s not working or spending time with her family, you can find Dana at her little farm in Ault doing chores. We all love her sweet and friendly nature that keeps her going with a very demanding life.

Norma Ehrlich

NormaNorma is our main buyer for Hudson’s Bay Salon. She received her nail care license in 1994, and worked with us providing nail services from 1995-2005. We all love Norma and just couldn’t say goodbye to her when she could no longer continue in her profession as a nail technician. So, she decided in order for her to ‘keep her foot in the door’, she would pursue another direction. Norma was instrumental in organizing a fun retail business here at Hudson’s Bay Salon. We have always sold hair, skin, and nail products. Our Norma took it to an all-time high. She sought out fun and affordable purses, jewelry, scarves, and a various assortment of unique gifts for us to display and sell. If you want a particular item, Norma will do everything she can to find it for you. We love that she gives us a more enjoyable environment to be creative in. She also keeps us all in line, (just like the old days) And I think that is her most difficult calling!

Denese Renner

DeneseDenese has 28 years of experience as a professional cosmetologist. Eleven of those years were spent here at Hudson’s Bay Salon. We were sad when she left us to pursue her own adventure, but are thrilled to announce that she has decided to return for another term! Denese loves doing hair. Her aspirations started at the young age of 4. She started with her dolls, and by the age of 5 had graduated to self haircuts. As she grew, her knowledge and skills grew, and she taught herself to french braid. She practiced mercilessly on her 3 sisters until she perfected her art. They are still her models for fun new techniques and hair products. When Denese was in junior high school, she shadowed Starr at Hudson’s Bay Salon, deciding that this was the career she would pursue. Before she was even out of high school, she was proficient at prom updos, and specialty hair. Denese has lived in Windsor since 1989. She is married to Dave. Together they have 2 children; Brenden, 21 and Sabra 18.  They all indulge Denese’s creative accomplishments, serving as her most effective advertisement. Being in the beauty industry allows her the flexibility that is essential in order to spend precious time with her family while meeting all her clients needs. She is a valuable asset to our staff practicing quality hair care, and the professional customer service that you all deserve!!!
